BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION SERVICE

“Things you need to know before and after Scalp Micropigmentation Treatment”

Before Having Scalp Micropigmentation Before having a scalp micropigmentation procedure, it is important to take the following steps:

Research the procedure: Research the procedure thoroughly to understand the process, potential risks, and desired outcomes. Read my reviews and look at before and after photos to get an idea of the results that can be achieved.

Book a consultation first: Schedule a consultation with me as I specialize in scalp micropigmentation. This is an opportunity to ask questions, discuss your expectations, and determine if the procedure is right for you.

Consider your budget: Scalp micropigmentation can be expensive, so it is important to consider the cost and any financing options that may be available.

Prepare your scalp: If you have long hair, consider trimming it down to a shorter length to better see the areas to be treated. It may also be necessary to shave your head completely to achieve the desired results.

Stop using certain products: If you are using any topical hair loss treatments or blood-thinning medications, it may be necessary to stop using them before the procedure. Discuss any medications or products you are using with the professional performing the procedure.

Get a good night's sleep: Be well-rested and relaxed before the procedure, as this can help minimize stress and anxiety.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine: Avoid consuming alcohol and caffeine for the first 24 hours before the procedure, as these substances can increase bleeding which will result in poor ink retention.

If you have dry scalp, please be sure to moisturize daily for one week prior to your appointment. Dry scalps will not heal properly if not treated prior to the initial appointment. By taking the time to prepare and research the procedure, you can help ensure the best possible outcome from your scalp micropigmentation treatment.
After your scalp micropigmentation procedure, it is important to follow proper aftercare instructions to ensure the best results. Here are some aftercare guidelines:

Avoid scratching or rubbing the treated area: For the first few days after the procedure, avoid scratching or rubbing the treated area, as this can cause the pigments to smear or fade. Use your aftercare product provided.

Keep the scalp clean: Gently clean the treated area with a mild soap and water, and avoid using any products that contain alcohol or fragrances.

Avoid exposure to sunlight: Avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight or UV light, as this can cause the pigments to fade. Wear a clean hat or use a high SPF sunscreen when outside.

Avoid swimming: Avoid swimming or immersing the treated area in water for the first seven days after the procedure.

Avoid sweating: Avoid activities that may cause heavy sweating, such as exercising or saunas, for the first seven days after the procedure.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine: Avoid consuming alcohol and caffeine for the first few days after the procedure, as these substances can increase swelling and redness.

Follow-up appointments: Follow any follow-up appointments scheduled by myself performing the procedure, as I may recommend touch-ups or further aftercare instructions.

It is important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by myself to ensure the best results and minimize the risk of complications. If you experience any adverse symptoms or have any concerns, it is important to reach out to me for advice.

Common Questions

When can I shave my head again?

I recommend waiting at least one week.

When can I shampoo my hair?

I found that ink retention stayed best when washing the hair after one week. I highly recommend that everyone waits 7 day’s minimum before washing their hair to keep the natural oils during healing process.

I am travelling from far to see you. How should I space my appointments?

If you are visiting for at least one week, book your appointment on the day of arrival and the second session the day before or on departure date. You can then book your third on another trip. I also travel and teach so please let me know what city you live in.

What Sunscreen do you recommend?

I recommend any sunscreen you can buy at your local pharmacy or grocery store that is above 50 SPF and non greasy.

What trimmers do you recommend?

I recommend the Andis T-Outliner corded or cordless or Babyliss Pro Trimmer cordless. For a good quality trimmer, you need to spend at least $80-$120. Maintain your trimmer by oiling it and sanitizing it after every use. You can purchase Clipper disinfectants by Wahl, Andis or Oster.
